I am a results driven Director with a proven history of working across the automotive / leasing industry. I hold and have held senior positions in the organisations I have worked for. I am skilled in negotiation, business planning, vehicle leasing, operations management, new business development, residual value setting and remarketing.
I have spent 27 years in the fleet industry, starting first at Zenith. I spent 15 years there and was part of the team that bought the business from the founders with the first of what would go on to be 4 management buyouts funded by private equity. We grew the fleet from 2,000 to 30,000 vehicles between 1998 and 2013. Profit before tax consequently grew from £250k in FY1999 to £11m in FY2013.
I then went on to build my own successful leasing and rental business, Meridian Vehicle Solutions Ltd. We offered flexible long-term rental and leasing solutions, with no fixed-term contracts, no termination penalties and the ability to swap or upgrade at agreed intervals. We evolved by creating a multi-site retail business to expand the business model from remarketing to the trade to providing a 5-star retail experience for private buyers.
With such a broad experience, I am keen to give something back to the industry I love and the people who work in it. I am passionate about supporting professional development and competence within the fleet sector and promoting best practices that align with AFP’s mission to enhance fleet excellence.
I believe I can bring valuable insight and experience across so many disciplines through having run and led my own business. I am now Sales Director at FMG, where we look after almost a million drivers and vehicles, and support most of the fleet industry.
