Coaching helps individuals develop their performance and explore their potential in a safe and confidential environment. A coach will work with you to establish clear outcomes to support you in reaching your goals, using their skills to develop your self-awareness and give clear feedback. It is a powerful relationship that can change lives by supporting the individual to develop how they see themselves and realise their personal and professional goals.
Whilst coaching and mentoring share the same aims; to create awareness, give feedback and build self-esteem, they are different practices. The coach is not the expert on your role or business, or there to give advice, but to create the environment for the coachee to explore their reality. Whereas a mentor shares advice and their experience to support the mentee in developing their knowledge and skills.
Coaching can be virtual or face-to-face and is often a 1 to 2-hour session held monthly. This can be for any time period, but typically, people engage a coach for a minimum of 3 sessions. However, the arrangement is designed to suit you and your needs, and the coach will offer a 30-minute discovery call to discuss your requirements in more detail so you can make a plan together.
