Alan has been managing commercial fleets for 15 years, with a brief spell operating vehicles out of the Middle East. A proactive commercially focused leader who is passionate about decarbonising industry, particularly transport operations.

Alan’s has a wide range of experience in various business sectors; from education to transport and has extensive knowledge of implementing an electric only fleet, along with the associated infrastructure and network upgrades. Alan is keen to share his knowledge and experience, particularly with those fleets who need some support to realise their carbon reduction targets.

Alan has extensive experience of managing fleets and being responsible for vehicle acquisitions, driver behaviour, efficiency, safety, decarbonisation, maintenance and general admin such as telematics, driver and vehicle checks.

Commended at the Green Fleet Awards, Private Sector Car Fleet of the Year 2023 and finalist at numerous other fleet industry awards, including being awarded Rightcharge and Greenfleet Leading Electric Fleet Automotive Sector 2024. 

Most of Chris’ career has mixed Facilities and Fleet. In more recent times, Chris has dedicated himself to Fleet and is currently responsible for c.1,800 company vehicles -made up of c.600 cars and c.1,200 LCVs.

Chris is a member of the Association of Fleet Professionals (MAFP) and part of our LCV (Van) committee which provides an advisory service for all members and organisations operating LCVs.

In 2023 Chris received a “highly commended” recognition at the What Van Fleet Manager awards. Chris also sits on the advisory boards for both Fleet and Mobility Live and Company Car in Action events. In addition, Chris is regularly invited to be an expert speaker/panellist at renowned industry events and since January 2021 has been a panellist on the monthly Fleet News at 10 webinars.

In addition, Chris has also achieved certified membership of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (CIWFM) having completed his distance learning BA (Hons) degree in Facilities Management with Sheffield Hallam University in 2017.

Debbie has been Group Fleet Manager at Bauer Media for the last 23 years adding ‘Risk’ to her Job title in 2008 with the addition of the group commercial insurance procurement and subsequent risk management to her portfolio.

It is a diverse fleet role that combines the management of the conventional company vehicles, plus outside broadcast trucks and street team cars on radio stations, together with press cars and motorbikes used daily by our journalists for testing and evaluation purposes.

Best practice is high on Debbie’s agenda and is a key requirement, since she works alongside the high profile teams from Fleet News, Parkers and AM.

Commencing initially in a part time capacity with 150 vehicles she embarked on a journey to centralise the fleet function which, when at its largest was upwards of 1000 vehicles managed by 4/5 employees.

Efficiencies were sought and accomplished as process and procedure were challenged, new supplier partners appointed and for the first time all business units achieved parity group wide.

Stringent supplier management and daily analysis of fleet data continues to deliver efficiencies and her belief in being ‘hands on’ coupled with passion for making a difference is well known throughout the business. The initiatives that she has introduced have been welcomed at all levels.

She added the facilities management of a 650 head site in Peterborough to her remit in Sept 2016 and there has never been a dull moment since.

Benefiting hugely from the networking experiences provided by ACFO over the years and the advice and support from peers, fellow fleet operators and suppliers and now very proud to be a Director of AFP and would like to use her knowledge and skills to further to help others.

Elaine is an experienced leader, currently working in the water industry as a Fleet Manager. Accountable for driver safety and transport compliance, fleet asset replacement planning and delivery (owned, lease and hire), fleet maintenance and fleet administration (telematics, fuel cards, data analytics etc.)

Elaine has experience working in the private, public and voluntary sectors.

Skills include: fleet management; resource management and leadership; project, programme and change management; business improvement; strategic business planning; contract management; finance and risk management.

Elaine is educated to masters level having achieved an Executive MBA.

Martin Edgecox has worked at National Highways since 2013 and manages a diverse fleet for the organisation that builds, operates and maintains England’s motorways and A roads. He has significant experience of fleet in both the public and private sectors, including extensive fleet operations, procurement, sales, and automotive supply chain supporting a number of OEM customers with key vehicle components. Martin is delivering the governments ambitious net zero plan, including for its 1,300-vehicle fleet.

Martin was appointed to the board of the Association of Fleet Professionals in 2022 and provides fleet knowledge and support to 1^st and 2^nd responder fleet managers in what is an ever-changing operational environment.

Martin was voted #23 in the 2024 Greenfleet 100 most influential for decarbonising fleet & transport. Chair of the DfT OZEV Special Vehicles Group, Martin is committed to supporting the industry through the transition to Net Zero.

Experienced Fleet Professional, with 20 years’ experience working as both Fleet Provider and Fleet Operator. Currently responsible for circa 700 commercial vehicles at Platform Housing Group, who manage over 49,000 properties throughout central England.

Rob is the Director of Fleet Operations at Centrica Plc, where he oversees the UK’s 3rd largest mixed vehicle fleet, comprising 10,500 passenger and commercial vehicles.

With a focus on strategy, financial management, and service delivery, Rob also spearheads the future Net Zero vehicle fleet strategy for Centrica PLC and the delivery of the transition to Net Zero vehicles (BEV, Hydrogen etc) across all Centrica Plc brands such as British Gas.

Rob recently completed the flagship AFP Fleet Management Advanced course, achieving the prestigious Fellow level membership of The Association of Fleet Professionals.

Rob has a diverse background that enables a fresh view on unlocking the Fleet Value Chain: roles ranging from a GKN Auto parts Van delivery driver and Auto parts store manager, to FTSE 100 Enterprise Software sales, Video Game Business development, Marketing, Telecommunications and Automotive. His previous positions include Director of Business Development at Microsoft, Group Head of Fleet Operations at Centrica Plc, and Senior roles at Hollywood game developer “Kabam” in San Francisco where he served as a Vice President.

Stuart has been in the fleet industry for nearly 30 years. With a mechanical background, Stuart had maintenance control roles before moving into broader fleet management.

Stuart worked at Brandon Hire Station for 5 years, where the team won the Fleet News Most Improved Fleet Award in 2019. In the same year, Stuart was thrilled to be “Highly Commended” in the Fleet Manager of the Year category too. During his time at Brandon, Stuart integrated 2 fleets into one, implemented Fleet Plus Fleet management system, revisited every vehicle specification and extended Lytx from the hire station fleet into the Brandon fleet too. The approach he took Lytx resulted in Lytx writing a case study around the success – much of this was achieved by providing the right people with the right information at the right time to change driver behaviours.

Stuart is now Head of Fleet at Emcor UK and working hard to transform their fleet and improve the customer experience. In the 2 years he has been with Emcor, they have implemented a new fleet management system to move away from spreadsheet based management of the fleet. They have also taken SMR in-house. Taking SMR in-house has required the employment of a Maintenance Controller and setting up agreements with providers for Tyres, Glass, Breakdown and Service point to complete garage transactions. The impact of this is a 50% reduction in hire days on a monthly basis and on average 15% (£15000) saving monthly on SMR.

Further changes have included taking vehicle procurement in-house saving a further £90K and restructuring the team to ensure it is ready for further improvements.
