This programme is designed for professionals with senior responsibility for fleet operations, including:
• Fleet operators
• Fleet service providers
• Strategic decision-makers
Participants will typically hold overall responsibility for fleet performance or operate in a strategic leadership role.
It is the natural progression from the Fleet Vehicle Management – Strategic Course and supports those advancing into senior leadership positions. (The Strategic course is not a pre-requisite for attending the Advanced course).
Returning Delegates
Those who completed the Advanced course prior to June 2026 (including under ICFM) may attend this updated programme at a reduced fee, without assessment. With the majority of content refreshed, this provides an opportunity for ongoing professional development. Please submit an enquiry to discuss suitability.
Trainer-led, face-to-face programme, delivered over 5 consecutive days
o Monday start: 10:30
o Friday finish: 13:30
Maximum cohort size: 12
Following the taught programme, delegates have 12 weeks to complete and submit a business case proposal for assessment.
Successful completion results in:
• IMI Professional Achievement Certificate
• AFP Fellow status (FAFP)
A one week intensive programme offers distinct advantages for senior leaders compared to longer, modular formats;
– Concentrated time away from day-to-day operations enables leaders to step back and think strategically
– Supports big-picture thinking and decision-making clarity
– Immersive environment enables rapid skill development and knowledge consolidation
– Continuous learning across consecutive days improves retention and understanding
– Leaders move quickly from concepts to practical application
– Short turnaround allows organisations to realise faster return on investment
This advanced programme is designed to equip senior fleet professionals with the strategic insight, leadership capability, and practical tools required to manage complex fleet operations.
Delivered as an intensive, workshop-led experience, by the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
• Apply advanced principles to the strategic leadership of fleet operations across:
– Fleet Strategy
– Fleet Planning
– Fleet Finance
– Fleet Sustainability
• Evaluate the impact of economic, geopolitical, and global factors on fleet performance and decision-making
• Define a clear 5-year strategic direction across four key pillars:
– Cost
– Safety
– Sustainability
– People
• Demonstrate applied capability through the development and assessment of a comprehensive business case proposal

The course has so far been really informative and a great way to complete a stop and check on how we present ourselves and how we identify the best way to present to others. Keeping it relevant and concise whilst hitting objectives. Great vibe and positivity to the course. Highly recommended.
– Charlie Dix, Lex Autolease
Both rewarding and insightful. Getting away from your day job and returning to guiding principles is very timely
